Leadership of Ukrainian World Congress meet in Poland

August 25, 2010 - Peremysyl, Poland - For the first time in its 43 year history, the Ukrainian World Congress held its annual general meeting outside of North America or Ukraine in Peremysyl (Przemyśl), Poland from August 22-23rd. 
 
"The World Congress is a valuable organization which we [UCC] are a key member," stated Paul Grod, UCC National President.  "We, together with the representatives of 32 other countries which represent the interests of over 20 million Ukrainians who live outside Ukraine, had an opportunity to discuss and debate key policy issues and review challenges and opportunities within our respective communities throughout the world."

It is the annual meeting of the leadership from the Ukrainian communities outside of Ukraine.  The proceedings consisted of reports from World Congress President, Eugene Czolij, members of the Executive Committee, Committees and member organizations.  Three important roundtable policy discussions were held on the following topics:

 

-"Relations between the World Congress and Ukraine" or "Важливі питання, що стосуютьсяУкраїни, та подальші зв'язки СКУ з Україною"

-"Coordination between the World Congress and its members" or "Координація діяльності між СКУ і його складовими організаціями"; and
-"Current state of affairs of the Ukrainian community in Poland" or "Сучасний стан української громади в Польщі"
